Label Inspiration

This label features an illustration of my Gammie, Helen Vandivort Horan and my grandad, John Horan.  It was their wedding day, August 24, 1923.  Gammie was just shy of her 21st birthday when they were wed.  The original picture was taken on the Horan House lawn, just to the left of the front porch.  This rose’ is a perfect blend of two red grapes, a beautiful Duet!!!

Label Inspiration

My mother, Meg Horan as “Queen of the Fairies” in the, Sunnyslope School's musical of the same name in 1944. My mother truly was the Queen. Her costume was handmade and sewn by her Mother, Helen, complete down to the wand and crown. As my mother and I chatted about using her picture as the inspiration for the label, she broke out in her song, "I am Queen of the Fairies"......

LABEL INSPIRATION

Generations of Horan’s loved their horses. With 210 acres of farmland and orchard surrounding the home, it was the perfect setting for passing down that love. Grand-daughter Meg receive a gift from her grandfather John, her beloved horse, Twinkle. Meg and Twinkle spent many hours galloping among the hills at the confluence of the Wenatchee and Columbia Rivers. This original photo was taken during the WA State Apple Blossom Parade.

HVH stands for Helen Vandivort Horan...our beloved Gammie. The illustration was depicted from a picture that was taken at her home on First and Garfield in Wenatchee, August 2003, just a month shy of her 100th
Birthday. On the table in the background is her senior picture at Wenatchee High School. The twinkle in her eye and the smile on her face truly illustrates the fact that "Every day is a good day"

The historic and memorable Horan House, speaks for itself! On the National Register of Historic Places the Horan House has stood as a symbol of our family history in the Wenatchee Valley since its construction in 1899-1900. This full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon is similar in its detailed craftsmanship and is the perfect representation for this historic illustration.

100% Merlot from the Columbia Valley AVA. It’s rich ruby red in color makes way for the heavy caramel and blackberry nose. True representation of traditionally structured Merlot. Label Inspiration

Mike Horan, our great grandfather, was a prize-winning apple grower in the Valley. At the National Apple Show he was awarded the title Apple King and won $2000. With that money he bought the family a 1910 Buick that we featured on the label. The illustration of the Buick is from the picture of him and his family that was taken behind the Horan house in his orchard.

This label is purely about a celebration. The picture that led to the label was taken while wine tasting in Santa Barbara under a gorgeous weeping willow tree. As my daughter in law, Jenn and I savored a lovely Chardonnay, we raised the glass to toast my 50th Birthday, at that very moment our limo driver snapped the photo. I always love to say to our friends, that when you see me on the bottle with my sunglasses on and an empty glass, that's the perfect way to enjoy life!!!

CWM - Corey Wayne McDougall was the son of Diana and Doug McDougall. The winery began with Doug, Diana and a passionate Syrah drinker, Corey. He had a zest for life and adventure. This illustration was derived from a photo of Corey, downhill skiing at the Junior Olympics as he represented Mission Ridge Ski team.

Label Inspiration

Our great grandfather, Mike Horan, was know in the valley as a fine fiddle player. He and our great grandmother, Margaret were known for hosting large parties at the Horan House. Lively tunes can be heard as the guests danced in the many rooms. That was just the beginning of the music and talent that resonated through many generations of the Horan family.
