Label Inspiration

My mother, Meg Horan as “Queen of the Fairies” in the, Sunnyslope School's musical of the same name in 1944. My mother truly was the Queen. Her costume was handmade and sewn by her Mother, Helen, complete down to the wand and crown. As my mother and I chatted about using her picture as the inspiration for the label, she broke out in her song, "I am Queen of the Fairies"......

This recently released Duet is a perfect blend of 79% Semillon and 21% Sauvignon Blanc. This distinctive vintage exhibits strong fruit flavors with a refreshing oak toast and light acids. It presents a full mouth feel and is solidly structured with a sweet apple and pear sensation and a delightfully crisp finish. The small amount of Sauvignon Blanc balances out the citrus flavors of the Semillon. ~200 cases produced

Label Inspiration

This label features an illustration of my Gammie, Helen Vandivort Horan and my grandad, John Horan. It was their wedding day, August 24, 1923. Gammie was just shy of her 21st birthday when they were wed. The original picture was taken on the Horan House lawn, just to the left of the front porch. This white wine is a blend of two white grapes, a beautiful Duet!!!

Our estate grown blend of 33% Merlot, 27% Syrah, 22% Malbec and 18%Cabernet Franc illustrates a pure ruby color. The rich tobacco nose enhances the undertones of mixed berries and orange zest. The balanced level of acidity frames in the blanket of earthy tones graduating to a dried cherry and slightly smokey finish. The very light and soft tannins proves the fact that truly “Every day is a good day”.  ~297 cases produced

HVH stands for Helen Vandivort Horan...our beloved Gammie. The illustration was depicted from a picture that was taken at her home on First and Garfield in Wenatchee, August 2003, just a month shy of her 100th Birthday. On the table in the background is her senior picture at Wenatchee High School. The twinkle in her eye and the smile on her face truly illustrates the fact that "Every day is a good day"!!!

Label Inspiration

Mike Horan, our great grandfather, was a prize-winning apple grower in the Valley. At the National Apple Show he was awarded the title Apple King and won $2000. With that money he bought the family a 1910 Buick that we featured on the label. The illustration of the Buick is from the picture of him and his family that was taken behind the Horan house in his orchard.

2004 Cabernet Sauvignon

Exemplifying our intent to showcase varietal characteristics, the results are rather delicious in this Cabernet Sauvignon with 13% Syrah blended in. This wine starts with whiffs of chocolate muffin cake, coffee, plums, watermelon and toasted oak. In the mouth are flavors of rich black cherries, black currants, oak, chocolate and tea. There's a bit of sweetness between the midpalate, and firm tannins and vanilla notes on the finish. ~125 cases made.

2004 CWM Syrah

The CWM stands for Corey Wayne McDougall, the winemaker's son, who passed away in 2003. Winemaker McDougall has created quite a tribute to his son, with the results on the nose opening with plums, mocha espresso, cedar and cooked strawberry jam. On the juicy palate are pomegranates, sugared rhubarb and dark chocolate, all combining for a smoothness that broadens from the middle to finish, thanks to the blended Cab (9%). ~200 cases made.
